## Quick answer

For China travel services, the key question is not whether a provider sounds local or friendly. The key question is accountability: who takes payment, what service is being sold, whether a license or qualified supplier is required for that service, and what happens if a booking, guide, hotel, route, refund, or supplier fails.

## What to verify before paying

- Who is the legal operator taking your money?
- If the provider sells a tour, hotel, flight, private guide, ticket, car, or bundled route, where is the license or qualified supplier shown?
- Is the license number visible and checkable before payment?
- Does the page say exactly what is being sold: information, itinerary review, booking, tour operation, or guide service?
- Who is responsible if the booking fails, the route changes, or a supplier does not deliver?
- Are refund, cancellation, complaint, emergency, and dispute paths visible before payment?

## Common red flags

- A social profile or WhatsApp account asks for payment but does not show a legal operator.
- A provider promises private guides, hotels, tickets, cars, or full custom tours but does not show licensing or qualified supplier details.
- The same page mixes advice, booking, guide service, and tour operation without saying which entity is responsible for each part.
- Refund and cancellation rules are missing before payment.
- The provider uses vague claims such as official support, guaranteed entry, guaranteed visa-free transit, guaranteed hotel acceptance, or guaranteed payment success.
- Payment goes to a personal account while the public page presents the service as a business.

## Transparency labels

- Verified on public page
- Not found in reviewed public pages
- Unclear from public pages
- Traveler should verify before payment
